JOB TITLE: Employment Case Manager  

PROGRAM: New American Integration

SUPERVISOR: Employment Program Coordinator, General Supervision of Director of New American Integration

WORKING HOURS: 40 hours per week 

SALARY & BENEFITS:  Starting pay for the Employment Case Manager position is $17/hour. This is a full time hourly position eligible for benefits. IIB offers healthcare benefits, a 401(3)b package with employer contribution, an hour paid lunch, free parking, and a generous PTO policy.


Education: AA or combination of education and experience in the refugee or human services area

Experience: Experience with diverse cultures and/or refugee population is preferred, but not mandatory. Experience with providing direct client services is required.

The Employment Case Manager is responsible for assisting employable clients obtain and retain employment while adhering to program guidelines. This will be accomplished by enrolling clients into appropriate employment program and providing them with all necessary services while ensuring compliance of documentation and service provision.


Works under direct supervision of the Employment Program Coordinator and general supervision from Director of New American Integration


  • Assess and counsel clients, addressing barriers to employment and making referrals when needed
  • Ensure all enrolled clients have an employment plan and resume
  • Enroll all BRIA/NYSESRP clients into NY state program data base (BIN)
  • Work with employers, Employment Program Coordinator and clients after placement to ensure job retention
  • Assist clients in completing new hire paperwork and completing all pre-employment testing where required
  • Ensures required paperwork is complete and accurate as outlined in contracts
  • Correspond with employers, local agencies and other service providers as necessary
  • Assists client in notifying DSS of employment
  • Meet reporting deadlines for all contracted services in communication with subcontractors per spec sheet and contracts
  • Maintain accurate case files, as required by all contractors
  • Meet with clients on a pre-determined basis to ensure ongoing communication
  • Attend departmental and agency meetings as required
  • Conducts/arranges workshops related to employment (job club, financial literacy, etc.)
  • Communicates employment issues and trends with Employment Program Coordinator
  • Works with Employment Program Coordinator to create quarterly employment reports
  • Responsibly utilizes interpreting services
  • Perform other applicable duties as required
