Government Grants Manager
The Institute receives multiple federal, state, and private grants to fund services to our clients. The International Institute of Buffalo is looking to hire their next Government Grants Manager who will be responsible for the coordination of government grants, internal controls and compliance, development and management of grant budgets, submitting financial reports to various agencies for reimbursement. Looking for a proactive self-starter willing to make a direct impact on an organization. This position works alongside the Grant and Contracts Manager and be an integral member of the finance team.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or finance preferred or an Associate’s degree with at least 2-5 years post-award management of grants experience.
Required Experience: 2-5 yrs experience with fiscal reporting of federal or state grants. Knowledge of accounting principles. Detail oriented and ability to meet deadlines.
Preferred Experience: Prior fiscal administration of grants. Previous work in non-profit or educational setting.
- Supports government grant funding proposals: assist with budgets and review proposals.
- Creates and manages grant related invoicing and manage cost allocation across grants where applicable.
- Prepare detailed and accurate finance reports in a timely manner.
- Ensures complete documentation of funding awards.
- Organizes supporting documents for various audits.
- Monitor grant sub-recipients.
- Ensures the Institute is compliant with funder terms and conditions, manages deliverables, monitor and project grant spending, prepare requests for amendments/adjustments, and assist in planned spend-out.
- Follow up on outstanding payments in a timely manner.
- Strong skills with MS Office and working in web-based online submission portals.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task and able to prioritize and meet all deadlines.
- Team player and able to work in a multi-cultural environment.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Finance and Grant Administration and the Executive Director.
