Grants and Contracts Manager

Job Summary:

The International Institute of Buffalo receives multiple federal, state, and private grants to fund services to our clients. The Grants and Contracts Manager will manage primarily the New York State funding and provide backup support to their counterpart.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or finance. Strong knowledge of accounting principles.

Required Experience:

1 to 3 years of experience with grant financial reporting and post-award management of grants. Management of NYS grants and budgeting processes. Previous work in non -profit or educational setting highly preferred. Must have experience using Blackbaud Financial Edge as ERP.

Duties And Responsibilities:
  • Supports government grant funding proposals: assist with budgets and review proposals
  • Creates and manages grant-related invoicing and manages cost allocation across grants where applicable.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate finance reports in a timely manner.
  • Ensures complete documentation of funding awards.
  • Organizes supporting documents for various audits.
  • Monitor grant sub-recipients.
  • Ensures the Institute is compliant with funder terms and conditions, manages deliverables, monitor and project grant spending, prepare requests for amendments/adjustments, and assist in planned spend-out.
  • Follow up on outstanding payments in a timely manner.
  • Strong skills with MS Office and working in web-based online submission portals.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task and ability to prioritize and meet all deadlines.
  • Team player and able to work in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Finance and Grant Administration and the Executive Director.

Working Conditions:

Work environment requires consistent use of manual dexterity in reaching, writing, navigating, walking, sitting and standing and traveling to multiple buildings. This role requires several hours of sitting while working on a computer. This position requires fully functional vision and auditory abilities. This position may include hours of standing and walking, including up and down stairs, lifting, moving and carrying items of up to 30 pounds.
