In July, we expect to resettle five families including a Burmese family of five who’ve been waiting for resettlement in a Thailand refugee camp since 1999. The mother is a housewife and the father worked in agriculture. All three of the children were born in the refugee camp, meaning that Buffalo is the first place in which they can feel a real sense of belonging; children born in Thailand camps are not given citizenship.
Basic household items from bed linens and umbrellas to toilet paper and cookware significantly help our newest American neighbors as they begin their new lives in Western New York.
While we are unable to accept clothing donations, the following household goods are urgently needed:
- Twin Bedding Sets ( Pillow, Sheets, Comforter) MUST BE NEW
