International Visitor Leadership Program
The International Institute of Buffalo hosts visitors through the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs International Visitors Leadership Program (IVLP).
The program, which brings together foreign leaders and specialists from nations worldwide, fosters an environment of cooperation and mutual understanding. It is a testament to the diversity and inclusivity of our country’s public diplomacy efforts.
IVLP alums build lifelong relationships and include current or former heads of state.
The U.S. Congress funds some groups of visitors through appropriations to the U.S. Department of State. The U.S. government works through a long-standing public-private sector partnership with member organizations through the non-profit Global Ties U.S. These organizations create and execute quality, experiential programs for international visitors.
