We were honored to welcome 43 New Americans from 24 countries while they took their citizenship oaths at a special U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services Naturalization Ceremony on the USS Little Rock. These new fellow citizens are formerly citizens of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Burma, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Congo (Kinshasa), France, Germany, Guyana, India, Jamaica, Mexico, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom, Vietnam, and Yemen.

The unique ceremony also featured live renditions of the Star Spangled Banner and God Bless America, performed by the Chopin Singing Society of Buffalo, and a Presentation of Colors by the Buffalo and Erie County Naval Park docents.

The historic USS Little Rock, stationed at Buffalo and Erie Country Naval & Military Park in downtown Buffalo, is a guided missile cruiser and the only surviving vessel from the Cleveland-class light cruisers of World War II.
