Securing a Safe Start
The International Institute of Buffalo obtains safe, affordable housing for all newly arrived refugees. Our main priority is to find and prepare suitable housing that is fully ready for our clients before they arrive.
We are always looking to work with good landlords who need trustworthy tenants. The U.S. State Department vets all of our clients and we train them how to be responsible tenants and neighbors. If you have a rental property and are interested in helping our clients begin their American dreams, please contact us at call (716) 883-1900 and ask to speak with a housing coordinator.
Building Community
Some of our innovative resettlement work includes mentoring ethnic community leaders and organizations, including the Iraqi American Society, Bhutanese Nepali Community, Afghan Community of Buffalo and the Ukrainian American Freedom Foundation to better connect with their new foreign-born neighbors.
