Interpreting & Translation
The International Institute provides reliable, quality foreign language interpretation in more than 100 languages and by multiple delivery methods: in person, video, or telephone. Interpretation services may be requested at any time, 24 hours per day, seven days a week, independent of the Institute’s business hours. Translation and localization of written content is available in more than 60 languages from qualified and certified translators.
The Institute has cultivated its language expertise over 30 years and is the largest local provider of language services in Western New York. Our non-profit social enterprise utilizes professional linguists residing locally in the Buffalo/Niagara region and serves customers nationwide.
Sectors served by the Institute include health care, criminal justice/courts, education, nonprofits and a wide variety of industry. We also train customers on how to work effectively with interpreters.

Why request language services?
Professional interpretation and translation ensure accurate and complete communication, and, in most cases, are required in order to comply with federal and state laws. Individuals with Limited English proficiency have the right to access programs and services in their primary or preferred language. Contact us to learn more, and to request training for your organization.

Interpretation and translation – What’s the difference?
Interpretation is an oral translation and is required when two parties need to communicate verbally and, usually, in person. Translation is a written rendering of one language to another.
Translation Services
The International Institute provides professional translation and localization in over 60 languages, at competitive rates. Please send requests and documents to translation@iibuff.org. Transcription and voice-over talent are also available upon request.
