Community Outreach Internship

Program:
Interns will assist with volunteer and in-kind donor outreach, communication, and reporting.
Supervisor:
Community Outreach Manager
Working Hours:
8 – 10 hours per week / a minimum of 4 hour blocks. A minimum of one full semester

Job Summary:

Interns will assist with volunteer and in-kind donor outreach, communication, and reporting.

Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of diverse cultures and/or willingness to learn cultural customs
  • Access to a car/reliable transportation
  • Comfortable working independently and in collaborative environments
  • Flexibility to changing needs of staff and ability to multi-task
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Willingness to do physical work and ability to lift 10 – 20 pounds

Duties And Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the arrangement, organization, valuing, reporting and acknowledgement of in-kind donations
  • Attend home setups
  • Maintain volunteer, community group and university staff databases
  • Strategize outreach methods
  • Work in partnership with Every Bottom Covered to distribute diapers to families in need, pick up diaper donations, ensure enrollment and tracking documentation is prepared and submitted, and assist with keeping donations organized
  • Complete other duties as assigned
