Employment Intern
Interns work with the Employment Team in teaching immigrant and refugee clients about the process of seeking and obtaining employment, the economic structure in the U.S. and fiscal responsibility. Interns also help run our workplace readiness program Job Club through fun and engaging workshops.
- Ability to provide a “trauma-informed” approach and sensitivity to working with refugees and other vulnerable populations
- Knowledge of diverse cultures and/or willingness to learn cultural customs
- Access to a car/reliable transportation
- Comfortable working independently and in collaborative environments
- Good speaking, writing and listening skills
- Adherence to confidentiality policies
- Update client database to reflect attendance in Job Club, completed resumes/cover letters, interview times and locations
- Call offsite employment partners to schedule and/or confirm appointment times
- Assist clients in job hunting and filling out job applications
- Educate clients on using public transportation
- Complete other duties as assigned.
