International smarts, camaraderie, laughs, and much enthusiasm – results are officially in following another successful and festive Community World Trivia competition, hosted again this year on the Roswell Park campus. For the second year in a row, it took the tiebreaker round, but Team Sherlock Homies defended its 2023 win to come out on top to claim the title of “Buffalo’s Most Globally Smart.”
12 six-person teams answered questions on topics including:
- Current Events
- History & Geography
- Travel the World
- Arts, Literature & Language
- Pop Culture, Sports, & Music
- World Cuisine
Event Emcee Gabe DiMaio asked the internationally-focused multiple choice, short answer, or true/ false questions. The team members worked cooperatively to come up with the correct answers. The judges Dylan Steed, Assistant Director of Community Relations, University at Buffalo, Sonya Tareke, Program Manager, The Exchange at Beverly Gray, and Apryle Schneeberger, Founder, Collaborative Center for Social Innovation collected and verified each team’s answers at the end of each round. Aside from bragging rights, the top team won gift cards from local businesses.
