During its recent meeting, the Board of Directors of the International Institute of Buffalo (IIB) voted to install its new members.
Matthew Romagnuolo was named the new chairperson, elevated from his position as the board’s vice chair. In that position, Romagnuolo succeeds Katie Schneider, owner of Katie Schneider Photography, LLC. He is a retired Lieutenant Colonel of the United States Army, where he was an infantry officer and an Africa foreign area officer (FAO). He previously served on the Board Governance and Development committees.
“I am excited to be elected,” said Romagnuolo. “There are many great opportunities on the horizon and no lack of people to serve. I look forward to doing my part to help the International Institute of Buffalo fulfill its potential.”
Kevin Gentry was elected Vice Chair. Gentry, a native of London, England, is Assistant Vice President Consumer Direct Sales Manager at M&T Bank.
New to the board is Mohammed Osman. Osman is the president & CEO of Fortunes America Properties LLC and an active leader in Buffalo’s Bangladeshi community. He is a native of Chittagong, Bangladesh. He fills a vacancy left by the term-limited departure of Priya Pinto, Executive Director of Allwel.
Current board members elected to additional three-year-terms are Molly Chvala, Senior Vice Principle of User Experience at Crowley Webb, Dawn Odrzywolski, Vice President of Medicare Programs at Independent Health, and Dan Theal, Vice President, M&T Bank Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Sr. Program Manager.
