In case you missed it, Executive Director Jennifer Rizzo-Choi did interviews with several news stations in response to a leaked memo from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Reporters from both WGRZ, Channel 2 and WKBW, Channel 7 came to our campus in downtown Buffalo with cameras in tow.
The memo, published by Reuters Trump Administration orders for a broad review of all refugees who entered under the Biden administration. This order applies to over 230,000 refugees who entered the country between 2021 and 2025 and also halts all processing of permanent residence applications for refugees who entered during that time.
In the interviews, Rizzo-Choi explained the various and impactful repercussions both nationally and locally if the Trump administration moves forward with the re-examination of already-vetted refugees who are already living in our country legally.
