Recently, WBFO featured an interview with Jérémie Boroy, advisor to the Mayor of Paris on people with disabilities and chairperson of France’s National Advisory Council for Persons with Disabilities.
Mr. Boroy and his colleagues visited Western New York last month as part of the U.S. Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP), facilitated by our International Exchanges and Education Department in collaboration with Rochester Global Connections. While here, the group concentrated on education and employment opportunities, support services, and appreciation of the deaf community and culture.
Mr. Boroy spoke in depth about the French disability rights movement, what both France and the U.S. can learn from each other about disability accessibility, and how his trip to the U.S. will influence his work moving forward. Click here to listen to or watch Jérémie Boroy’s full interview.
