In case you missed it, Executive Director Jennifer Rizzo-Choi visited Buffalo Toronto Public Media NPR to speak with “What’s Next?” host Jay Moran. In their wide-ranging interview, Rizzo-Choi explained how the annual Presidential Determination by the current federal administration reshapes refugee resettlement nationally and locally, including setting the ceiling for refugees admitted through the U.S. Refugee and Immigrant Program (USRAP).
She also highlighted the substantial economic contributions and benefits that refugees have made over the last several decades, as well as how the International Institute of Buffalo collaborates with local employers to address significant needs in the Western New York region. In addition, she elaborated on how the current federal administration policy has affected local organizations and the community on the ground level.
