In May, we are expecting to resettle 25 refugees, including six families. They’ll be arriving from Iraq, Somalia, Eritrea, Pakistan, Nicaragua, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Burma. This month we’ll have several small and individual cases that are bound by limited funding They include a single mother who will be living alone with her daughter – before their arrival, they will have spent significant time in a refugee camp in Ethiopia after mom initially fled Somalia back in 2010. Donations are crucial to the important work we do to help our new American neighbors as they begin and build their new lives.
While we are unable to accept clothing donations, the following household goods are urgently needed:
- Twin Bedding Sets ( Pillow, Sheets, Comforter) MUST BE NEW
- Full Bedding Sets (2 Pillows, Sheets Comforter) MUST BE NEW
- Throw Blankets MUST BE NEW
- Pots/Pans/baking dishes (new or gently used)
- Dinner Bowls
- Shampoo
- Plates, Bowls, Drinking Glasses, Coffee Mugs/Tea Cups (new or gently used)
- Plastic Cutting Boards
- Bath Towels
- Shower Curtains and Hooks
- Dish Drying Racks
- 13 Gallon Trash Cans
- Multipurpose cleaning supplies
- Car Seats for Children
- Laundry Detergent
- Dish Soap
- Mop and Bucket
- Broom and Dustpan
- Menstrual Pads (no tampons)
- Sponges
- Paper Towels
