Upwardly Global, a national program that promotes the hiring of immigrants and refugees, put our successful Professional Pathways program in the spotlight!
Sponsored by the NYS Office of New Americans, Professional Pathways helps high-skilled refugees and immigrants re-enter their careers or continue in higher education. Our partnership with Upwardly Global bolsters our mission, providing additional expertise and services.
Denise Beehag, IIB’s director of New American Integration, emphasized that assisting New Americans to continue their careers is a two-way street, it also benefits Western New York Communities.
“Since 1918 our focus has been on supporting and welcoming refugees and immigrants to the Buffalo and WNY area, the last five years have seen population growth for the first time since the 1960s,” she said.
Last month, our second annual collaboration with Leadership Buffalo matched mentors to help these high-skilled new Americans return to their professions. Click here to watch WKBW-TV’s coverage of the event.
